Why should you suggest your boss to switch to YACS?

Is your company looking for an open-source platform to support intranet web servers? Ok, you have checked all major solutions available today, from those recommended by CMSWatch to those listed at DMOZ.

Can we suggest to consider YACS as well? You may be surprised by the number of features that do match corporate needs. Well, actually YACS has been used to support some intranet web sites for about 18 months, and therefore we do have the experience of such things

Look at other blog or CMS packages. Do you know one that does not feature user groups? But YACS has been built with other paradigms in mind. If you want a personal blog, a simple personal account is enough. And if you want to actively support a community, you can benefit from the scalability of the YACS approach, featuring following classes of user profiles: Associate, Member, or Subscriber

Small is beautiful!

Every web surfer has to know one of internet giants, such as Yahoo!, Google, Amazon. In France, most of the Internet traffic is driven by FNAC.com, voyages-sncf.com, and a handful of ISP portals. That's fine, but it does not explain the millions of web sites spidered by search engines. Weblogs have shown the way: the next move for the Internet is to let individuals, or small groups of people, express themselves as easily as possible through the web. One very important side-effect of this evolution is probably that we don't need web portals anymore
