Hello Bernard,
When Skara suggests to create some "themes", for bloggers and for small communities because this will help to promote YACS in these two areas, I think he means "skins", but including an organisation of the YACS's features (sections and so on), so that it looks like what a clever blogger (or a small community) would have organise for his needs, by taking advantage of the magical features of YACS.
It has to be done as if you were a blogger (or a small community) doing it for yourself. It would appear as a specific YACS, proposed "clé en main", but so proposed as an example, in a pedagogical purpose.
I agree with Skara to say that it is the best way for promotion.
The person responsable of this work could then do the same for others (including e-business, e-learnig and so on), as I prepare myself to do with my project (which could become the one of YACS, because they are very similar), knowing that "small communities" are very different : for example, a local (territorial) community is not a (thematic) worldwide club of YacsLovers.
If I am right, it would mean that this "skin" is not only a question of design, but also a question of ergonomical design.
