Djsail : Hello and welcome in the Yacs world.
To use yacs as a local intranet media server, the better way is to use collections.
In collections, you have to give the local path to access files (i.e /home/media/music/) and the network path (i.e /music) defined in your apache settings if this folder is not in the yacs path.
Becarefull of the rights to access theses files.
If you make a photo collection, you will be able to see them one by one or as a slideshow.
If you make a music collection, you will be able to listen one song or to load all the folder. This function launch a media player and works fine with VLC (VideoLanClient).
If you want a video collection, you will see the movies in VLC media player or download them to another computer.
Tell us what did you want to do, the path of the files and the path of yacs ?
