Nick, I have not stressed yacs yet, but I have played with PHP profiling to identify areas to improve:

When activated, the tool generates data files that may be explored afterwards. A small but handy complementary tool is also available for computers under Windows:

Maybe you would have recommendations to profile MySQL requests, and to build a stressed yacs environment?
