How to publish files? You have two methods to upload .mp3 files.

Firstly, you can attach one or several files to any article, as shown here.

Or you may prefer to click on the 'Share a file' link in your user menu, and to upload directly.

In both cases public files are listed by YACS:
at related articles (example) at the index page for files in the RSS feed for files, as demonstrated with the image below

As a matter of fact, the only thing to do to podcast with YACS is to ... more »

After all, we are living in a modern world, it's time your web sites start acting like it."

Ok, lets see how this site -- and, more generally, any YACS server -- compares to Nick's wish list

We would like to use some specific RSS feed to monitor YACS servers. But this requires at least to authenticate news readers.

No problem, HTTP Basic Authentication is supposed to be easy to implement. According to the PHP documentation, you just have to look at two variables to get user name and password.

Unfortunately, these two variables will always be empty if PHP runs on the CGI interface.

Does this mean that users cannot be authenticated at some PHP sites? No! The solution is to find another way to retrieve credentials into PHP.

Actually what is ... more »

As you may know, there is no specific standard to specifically type RSS newsfeeds, but we definitely need to select a solution. I know, this topic has already been discussed many times. No brand new ideas here.

This being said, YACS is aiming to be reference code for professional software developpers. And we do have very good reasons to stick with text/xml , and to not use application/xml nor application/rss+xml for our RSS feeds
