Hi again,
I'd like to try 'moblogging' with YACS -- sending a short message with a photo from a camera mobile phone by email to my site. I was wondering whether anyone has done this yet with YACS, and if so, could you explain how its done? ::)

Thanks,
Eoin

YACS provides RSS newsfeeds as text/xml, and this is a deliberate choice

As you may know, there is no specific standard to specifically type RSS newsfeeds, but we definitely need to select a solution. I know, this topic has already been discussed many times. No brand new ideas here.

This being said, YACS is aiming to be reference code for professional software developpers. And we do have very good reasons to stick with text/xml , and to not use application/xml nor application/rss+xml for our RSS feeds

How to derive the categories tree from search requests?

Aside of the several sections used to post articles on this site, and of the search engine based on full-text indexation we already have, the categories tree is a very handy mean to navigate among all these pages. Years ago Yahoo! built its success on a manual classification of pages.

Of course, we are supporting such sweating efforts at YetAnotherCommunitySystem.

But we also have improved the classification process thanks to the search engine. Search and click, that is all that is necessary to expand our categories tree
