I manage to visit sites I am in charge of about once per day. After the usual authentication step YACS recognizes me as an associate and therefore adds some commands to my user menu. One of these commands offers to check the review queue.

What appears in the review queue? Well, simply enough, YACS lists there articles that should probably be individually checked, such as:
most recent queries pages submitted but not published yet (job for a managing editor) oldest pages (that could be dead or inaccurate) less read pages (maybe you should make it more appealing)

Bernard,

I've asked several questions that may seem odd. Hopefully this post will clear up any misconceptions and I'll be able to see whether YACS can work for me.

Let's say that I own BigCompany.com with offices in Toledo, Miami, Paris, London, and LA.

Let's say that I want to set up a public intranet of sorts for my employees that is read only - they can't edit the content. What I mean by public is that it will be out on the web but access will be controlled by passwords and logins.

Further let's ... more»

Hi Bernard,

First off I'm impressed and thankful that you took some of my suggestions for the last update. I'm installing it today to try out the new features. Thanks!

1. Should there be any problems in multiple installs of YACS on subdomains? Like health.mydomain.com, money.mydomain.com, etc?
I'm mainly concerned about cookies and any thing else that may cause problems.

2. I've seen your writeup on the differences between sections and categories. In real life, though, what is the best practices on when to choose which?
What I want to do is have ... more»
