Hi all,

Just thought I would feedback on the fact that the latest beta installed painlessly on clustered server hosting with safe mode ON, CHOWN to webserver recursive (all files) and running php4.4 with mysql 5. Very fast, very cool

Treblesix: Many thanks for your positive feed-back. Actually I have not been able to test YACS with safe mode. Can you kindly describe the additional steps that are necessary for such an installation? Also, have you experienced some limitations such as no file/image upload ?

Bernard: Hi, as a YACS newbie, the one thing that really impressed me was the fact that it installed cleanly as described ...just followed the installer steps.

Further information is that the mysql database resides on a seperate server to the cluster.

However, I did find my logged in status dropped out fairly often when dodging around from various parts of admin/control panel and rest of the site. I therefore incrementally upgraded to the very latest 6.3.1 release today ... and find that the logged in status seems to droput more frequently ... also the final stages of the upgrade did not run entirely smoothly ...why I have no idea? I am not a programmer lol.

However, having "road-tested" my way through around 1200 OS cms/portal scripts in the last few months for a project ... I am very impressed by the fluid nature of YACS and the diversity of stuff that can be done unlike virtually all of the other contenders. My French colleague may contact you about certain possibilities shortly

For our project purposes Yacs compares more than favourably with say Typo3 and ezPublish.

LOL, maybe I will have to now get inside how Yacs works and focuss on the detail as opposed to the broader issues :o

Yacs is looking good Bernard. I will post relevant feedback when appropriate.

Just remembered, it would perhaps be nicer if when logging-out anywhere onsite the page refresh was to the home page ... it gets confusing being left on different pages with no access permission ... just my 2 cents
