Installation problem at the second step

cyandrea -- on Feb. 16 2006
Hi, I can't install yacs on a server web. I reach the second step (the page where I have to set the name of the database, psw...), but when I set all fields and I save I get a blank page without errors displayed... Can you help me?!

thank you

I think the problem is that Yacs try to look for the script configure.php in the following url: /var/subdomain/parliamo/html/control/configure.php while it should look for it in:/control/configure.php

How can I set the wrong path?

thank you.

Cyandrea: have you been able to look at the error log from the Apache server?

Dear Cyandrea,
...on the YacS' roads !
How did you get these informations ? I had quite a same pb, thinking and agree with Bernard to suspect httpd.conf (Apache general configuration file) to be responsible. Do you use virtuelhoting ? If so, could you give a snapshot ?

Yacsly yours,
Lucrecius

Do you know if Yacs can be installed without the /yacs/ directory? So, it is possibile the upload all files directly inside the root of the domain?

Cyandrea: yes, I know several servers that have been installed directly at the root of the server, with a path configured to / only.

Bernard: When I tried to install Yacs in a subdomain I could't 'cos at the second step of the installation I got a blank page without error message and I was not able to finish the installation process. I could't also install Yacs in a domain without the directory /yacs/ 'cos in this way, the installation was ok but it was not possible to access /user/ directory 'cos I got an other blank page. So it was impossible to login and to logout or simply to watch the list of user.

Finally I have installed yacs in the domain with the directory /yacs/ and now it is working!

Do you know if exist an italian transation of yacs?

Thank you

Cyandrea: Thank you for the explanation. No official translation to Italian has started yet, but you are welcome to translate something in this language if you wish.
