I get a blank page when trying to access setup.php

Rodriguez, Cindy -- on Jul. 15 2005
After I downloaded and unzipped the files, I tried to access the file yacs/setup.php and all I get is a blank page. No error messages.
I tried with other files and I still got nothing. I used both IE and Firefox. I'm using Apache in my computer. I'm able to run other PHP files, even if I save them in the yacs directory. Is there some setting or configuration issue that can cause this to happen? Please help.

FYI: I was able to set up phyMyAdmin and phpDocumentor with no problems at all in less than 5 minutes (including download time), so I really have no idea what could be wrong.

Cindyrod, everytime I have seen the 'white page syndroma' it was because a failure of the PHP run time. The issue is to find which function call causes this failure. According to your description, the faulty call is probably in setup.php or in shared/global.php. Maybe you could add some echo 'here' and echo 'there' in the code to better locate the function that is not supported by your PHP engine.

The comparison with phpMyAdmin is fair, YACS has not been tuned against so many systems that phpMyAdmin. i am not sure that phpMyAdmin performs so many tests before the installation either.
