Probably not possible...
at least from what I've seen.
What I'm looking for is a way that a person could be in 'charge' of a particular topic/category and be able to post, moderate, delete, etc. only in that topic/category and not in others.
Kind of like a limited editor.
Likewise other 'editors' could only post and manage in their topic/category and not others they aren't assigned to.
Maybe I'm missing it but I don't see this as a feature right now.
Not complaining though.
Geeklog, which I've used extensively, has a complicated but very rich security system where you can do just as I described.
Is it possible with YACS? If not are there any plans to enhance the security levels and access?
Thanks in advance, Mark

| Bernard from nearby-an-airport Associate, 6674 posts | Mark: YACS already supports editors, even if this has not been extensively been tested yet. Suppose Alice is an associate of a site, and that Bob would be a perfect editor for one section. Alice would simply edit the section and add Bob's id or nick name in the Editors field. The field is visible once you click on the Advanced Options at the bottom of the form. Then Bob would be capable of changing any page in the section, etc. You may play with at the demonstration site if you wish. Does this feature answer your requirement? |
