Customize Signup
I would like to be able to customize the registration page significantly.
While most of the information on the page is nice. it does not cover all the information i'd like from applicants.
http:www.pathetic.org/signup.php seems to me to be a far better model for application.
Particularly the ability to make them agree to terms.
Fondly setphan

AnsteyER![]() 283 posts | Date of Birth is nice particularly on a site like mine where there can be more mature content. (I know, those wild poets and writers!) |
AnsteyER![]() 283 posts | Additionally, allowing us to add a fields, in this case a writing sample, would be nice. |
| Bernard from nearby-an-airport Associate, 6581 posts | Poetry sample can be added in the main description field, isn't it? |
AnsteyER![]() 283 posts | I can't edit the field names can i? so instead of 'description' i can't put 'writing sample' and then, make sure that that field is hidden, as sample of writing, a person might want to use it to get on the site, but not have it displayed for everyone to see. (the point of the sample being for us to determine whether to make them full members or leave them as subsribers) |
AnsteyER![]() 283 posts | I think, in general, the profile page as a landing page upon login is great, but it's definitely more info than most members want the world to see. And as an administrator it's what i need... the question really is about site admins being able to customize the user profile, not only the layout, but also adding and hiding bits. As a whole the page needs to be more customizable based on business model and use of the software. This, by the way, extends into the idea of multiple user-types and groups. It is a severely limiting factor in the development of a community. |
