Actually, what i REALLY need is a bit more complicated, but i could come close with a simple survey.

what i need is the ability to create a survey (multiple questions, text fields, emulating membership application.. with an extra field for a writing sample) then, the private results, i could review, move the writing smaple field to a 'vote' tempalte, and let members vote to decide whether to allow that subscriber to be bumped to member.

I basically want to allow subscribers to apply for full membership.

but a survey would do enough of the job.

It would also allow the site to run surveys of membership that go way beyond that one simple thought. Admittedly the non-normalized data doesn't allow any sort of analysis but there is value to anecdotal data of surveys of that type.

Simple forms is in the Development backlog and I think would allow what you require.

I dont know when it is planned to be started.

Surveys and forms are similar, and they will be my main commitment, as developer, for the version 8.2.

Stephan, have you played with forms, to implement screening of subscribers?
