NickR
www.ngr78.co.uk/control - tabs not working.
Error: Event.observe is not a function Source File: http://www.ngr78.co.uk/shared/yacs.js Line: 872
errors in firefox and ie on Nov. 26 2007
Bernard
Event is part of included/browser/prototype.js. Has this one been updated? on Nov. 26 2007
NickR
Well its an upgrade from 7.6 to 7.10 so its a new file on Nov. 26 2007
Bernard
Is it present in the directory? on Nov. 26 2007
NickR
yes on Nov. 26 2007
Bernard
And what is the size of the file temporary/cache_included_browser_minify.js, if any? on Nov. 26 2007
NickR
39, 813 bytessorry, its not there, that was calendar_minify... on Nov. 26 2007
Tof
there was a post today, and we met a equivalent problem on gresivaudan.org. It seems that yacs.js works better when it's included in th page_header than in the page_footer.
(in the global.php) on Nov. 26 2007
Bernard
Nick, this may be related to a memory issue on the included/jsmin.php. To validate this edit the file included/browser/minify.php and comment out the line 77, that invokes the jsmin library. on Nov. 26 2007
NickR
ok made the change... on Nov. 26 2007
Bernard
And... on Nov. 26 2007
NickR
just purging cache..
no error. tab not working on Nov. 26 2007
Tof
hem... i'd like to insist... on Nov. 26 2007
NickR
I shall try adding the js file in the skin... on Nov. 26 2007
Tof
may be your solution on Nov. 26 2007
NickR
to the top on Nov. 26 2007
Bernard
Nick, attempt to load included/browser/minify.php manually in browser windows to see if some error is generated there. on Nov. 26 2007
NickR
well i dont get a js error
i get a blank screen which suggests page not loading
i increased the php memory limit to 32m and it loads ! on Nov. 26 2007
Tof
(last try before i go to bed.... did you read my advice ?) on Nov. 26 2007
Bernard
Normally, the script at this address read all .js files from included/browser, concatenate them, and put the result in temporary/cache_included_browser_minify.js, for an overall size of about 199kbytes. on Nov. 26 2007
NickR
and the tabs are now working - 32m is a LOT
Tof, no need, its a memory issue, thanks anyhow on Nov. 26 2007
Tof
ok thanks. on Nov. 26 2007
Bernard
Nick, normally only the jsmin is requiring this, and only once, to produce the cached version. However memory consumption goes just too high and in version 7.11 i have de-activated the jsmin call. In case of problem the alternative is to copy the version provided in the archive directly to the temporary directory. on Nov. 26 2007
Tof
meanwhile, bernard, do you have a reason for the problem i exposed ? i dont find one, but it's not the first time i get such a problem; sometimes js files works better in headers... ? on Nov. 26 2007
Bernard
Tof, I was not aware of this. Has this problem been documented somewhere? on Nov. 26 2007
NickR
Thanks, I must go an make my wife a cup of tea. Speak to you guys later. on Nov. 26 2007
Tof
yes a post today in the bugs thread i think. the pb can apppear if there is an error in another javascript operation that block the rest of the js executions. that's the only reason i found , but maybe there is another one.
have a nice tea Bye Nick. on Nov. 26 2007
Bernard
Ok, i will check the thread and answer directly there. See you guys. on Nov. 26 2007
Tof
