Towards web 2.0
On every release YACS is providing more of the web 2.0 promise. The version 7.5 is no exception, and the integration of Google Maps and the addition of a tag cloud is a significant step to this moving, yet exciting target.

Zaphmann: yes to all of your questions, definitely. Pages have to be put in sections to obtain an hierarchical content tree. Add tags and categories to pages to create transverse lists of pages, whatever sections they are anchored to. For the automatic creation of menu, there is the contextual menu, on page side. And of course, tabs at the top are built dynamically based on top-level sections.

Hi Bernard
Thanks for your reply, I will give your solution a try.
But I'm having ONE BIG conceptual problem. When I'm logged in it lets me select create a page but I can't see where to add a fresh discussion? In fact I can't see from my login how to add a comment like this at all - !! (I got to this by back tabbing in my browser and before that I'd got in somehow...
So my new questions are:
How do I start a new discussion and see if anyone replies (without attaching it to an existing one)?
And my original question I was going to ask was : Are there any ecommerce capabilities? (eg Shopping cart?)
Thanks (& sorry to fill your blog with other subjects! Z

Zaphmann: actually, starting a discussion is just about creating a new page in a forum area. Select the community tab at the top right of this page to browse existing discussion boards, and there you will be able to start a new thread...

I have been reading your pages and am impressed by the look and feel but can't yet ascertain if your system has the functionality I need. which is:
A dynamic CMS (obviously)
Ability to have articles, blogs, discussions etc all under the same logical tagging system (categories or whatever) so that a user could come to the site and see (or select) only the topics or sub topics that interest them.
Also for some 'smart' folder or tag system - so that if a new topic were added it would appear in a menu automatically?
Thanks Zaph
I just want to know if YAKS covers this functionality before jumping in!
