Google Adsense
It would be nice to offer a bit of an interface for advertising. (in my instance, we use adsense)
Honestly, this would be a low priority, I used the menu to put the adsense ad in and that's fine. the only thing that might be nice is if it hid the ad from admins, to avoid them hitting it all the time. On the whole though, the idea of easy insertion of ads is appealing. As is, I suppose they could be built into the skins or as i did, in the navigation boxes.

Actually the insertion of Google Adsense is made of some HTML combined with Javascript, and YACS offers several ways to handle this. You can include Google Adsense in a skin template, to have it available at all pages. An example is available that you can reuse. Or, if you are an associate, you can put these directly within a page to have it displayed where you want. Paste the Google code directly in a navigation box to have it available on the side of every page for example. You can also paste the code in the cover page, or at index pages of selected sections, to make your ads more visible. |
