YACS has been agile for a while...

... even if I have signed the Agile manifesto only recently.

" We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. Through this work we have come to value:
  • Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
  • Working software over comprehensive documentation
  • Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
  • Responding to change over following a plan

That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more. "

The Manifesto for Agile Software Development has popped up late 2001, and this has given us plenty of time to digest related ideas before starting the YACS initiative.

Since its inception, YACS is about applying agile principles exposed above to the development an open-source piece of software. No more, no less.

If you are new to YACS, you may ask yourself: "What should I do to become a smart community member?" Well, the answer may be quite long, and they are a number of things to consider. But, at least, you can start with an easy step: read the manifesto, understand it, and sign it.

This may become the very first item checked during our future certification process anyway...
