To answer a recent request from Eoin, we
are currently adding mail handlers to YACS. As you can
see, YACS is now able to process inbound plain text
messages.
Some fields, such as the title, the introduction and
the source fields, can be set directly inside the
message itself.

| Eoin 23 posts | Nice work man! Did you say you got it working with images and attachments too? |
| Bernard from nearby-an-airport Associate, 6734 posts | Yeap! First tests are quite encouraging, as proved at This page, including images and attached files, has been sent as a single multipart e-mail message. We are currently testing several mail systems to track and solve bugs. Guillaume has already forwarded one message with a lot of camera shots to its blog, just to try. What do you thing of the result? At the moment I am looking for someone who could post a MMS, preferably with one image and/or a video, to a YACS server. The objective is to dump the message in a file and to make requested changes to YACS, if any, to handle it correctly. I can tell you Man, if you are handling a lot of mail messages this way of blogging is really great. Add mobile logging on top of it... |
| Col 1 post | This looks like very fine work indeed! I would be interested to know if it would be possible to email an article to a specific category? |
| Bernard from nearby-an-airport Associate, 6734 posts | " email an article to a specific category? " Yes! You can add a <section>blogid or section nick name</section> tag to attach the article to any section. You can also add a <categories>comma-separated list of categories</categories> tag and YACS will either link the article to existing categories or create categories if necessary. Please give it a try and keep me informed
