Completing the Design Handbook
and related matters
I have undertaken the project of harmonizing the French and English Design Handbooks in yacs.
To this end, I have slightly modified What is a skin? to incorporate additional comments made by Agnès in the French version (which was really a translation of an article originally written by Bernard, I gather).
There are 8 more articles in French than in English. My intention is to eventually translate all of them in my spare time (does that really exists ?) What I really mean is : don't hold your breath, but in due course, you might have a bilingual Design Handbook.
I have also added a new article in both French and English, from my own. I might also continue doing this, if you wish.
In the course of this harmonization, I might change some of the existing articles, either for better congruence,or to bring them up-to-date if necessary. Managing these articles wiki-style instead of forum-style (where the initial article is not touched and changes are documented in comments) seems more appropriate to their role. Is it OK with you ?
Also a special request : could I count on somebody technically proficient to revise my texts ? Please raise your hand, in either French or English.
One last thing : may I change the rank of the articles ?
Thanks for your confidence, Bernard. And thanks to all the others in this community for your support and cooperation.

| Bernard from nearby-an-airport Associate, 6581 posts | Alain, you are highly encouraged to work on the YACS documentation. If you would accept to take the lead on the skin handbook, we would make you an editor of this section, with additional rights (and duties) on this and related web spaces. Thank you very much for your involvement. |
| Lasares from L'Île-Bizard à Montréal, Québec 697 posts | It is my pleasure and honour to contribute in this space. If you are willing to cope with my very variable availibity (sometimes I might be gone for weeks) I would gladly take on a more active role. What does being an editor involve ? |

Lasares: Becoming an editor means some editorial responsibilities, structure content, check posted pages, link items where applicable, etc. |
| Lasares from L'Île-Bizard à Montréal, Québec 697 posts | OK, I'll give it a go. On one condition : you coach me. Your advice on what to do, how to do it and what NOT to do, is not only welcome, it is (politely ) requested.

Play a little bit around, and then feel free to post new pages. I'll make some suggestions in a couple of days... Many thanks for your strong support, and welcome on board. |
