Works but ...
I managed to upload the lastes YACS archive in tgz format and it shows in the upgrade page but this is the error I get once I click to install: Stage updated scripts

No mean to explode skin archive

Any idea what can be wrong?

YACS produces this error when it can not load the library included/tar.php that is used to process the archive. Probably a file permission issue on this script...

Bernard,

The YACS instance (home.sbv54.net) I'm trying to upgrade is pretty old and I coulnd't find tar.php so I copied it from a newer instance but this simply generates an error: Fatal error: Class 'Safe' not found in /home/sbv54/public_html/home/yacs/included/tar.php on line 1558 This is the shown url http://home.sbv54.net/yacs/scripts/stage.php?id=20061201_yacs_6.10.tgz

btw... any site I upgrade to v6.10 with SiteGround has the same problem (error 500). recursive CHMOD to 755 fixes the issue.

This didn't happen with previous versions.

Any suggestions?

Jan B: In your case it may be simpler to push the full content of a YACS archive to your server manually, and to chmod everything to 755. Then finalize the upgrade as explained in How to manually upgrade a YACS server?

Hello Bernard,

I've manually updated home.sbv54.net to YACS 6.12 The control panel says the installed version is 6.10 Beta btw. All looks normal at first glance. However if I try to download attached files from a page this is what happens: Please configure your server

No configuration file has been found. If you are installing a brand new server, follow the link below to create one.

Jump to the installation page

Else follow the link below to load the configuration form.

Jump to the configuration page Login Fatal error: Class 'getid3' not found in /home/sbv54/public_html/home/yacs/files/fetch.php on line 208

As you can see the system shows the installation page and generates an error.

I've done all likely things: clear caches, chmod to 755, manual update, install hooks, update database, runc once,...

Any idea what might be wrong? It seems to work for mp3 and wma but not for pdf and zip.

I have several others sites under the same domain and hosting such as keva.sbv54.net which I upgraded in the same way and there the above problem is not present.

Thanks in advance,

Jan

Jan B: The error message you got means that the getid3 library is not correct. Please upload again related files from directory included to your server.
