No access to the database server [Solved]

avatardan alex -- on Dec. 6 2006
hello,

I'm in big trouble, somebody please help me!!

Well.. the problem is simple: This is the message I get when I try to open my index.php page in a browser.

" No access to the database server

Impossible to connect to the database server mentioned in your configuration file. Please follow the link to check connection parameters.

Jump to the configuration page "

Of couse, since there's no connection to the database, I cannot log in and obviously I cannot configure anything..

The only solution would be to manually edit the configuration file and then upload it ...

My questions are:

1. Which file do I have to edit? (there are several configuration files in the yacs directory and none of them seems to be the right one)

2. Why did this happen? Could this be the fault of the hosting server?

thank you in advance, alex

Database parameters are set in shared/parameters.include.php and you can edit this one manually if you aren't able to authenticate. If a previous configuration stopped to work at some point, without any sensible change, you could ask your ISP of course...

Bernard: thx, I've downloaded the file, looked through it and everything seems right. I've just tried again the home page and now it works.. so the configuration was fine all this time

So I guess I'll just have to contact my host next time this happens.. but hope it won't happen too soon

Thanks again, Alex

Alx84dan: Good news! Internet is a weather system on its own, and I suppose your server has passed through some clouds...
