Comment Links that don't work [fixed]

bobthecheese -- on Nov. 14 2006
Clicking "n Comments" from the front page isn't working.
I'm sorry if this has been posted or solved before, but I couldn't find it.

Ok, so here's the deal. On my site, there is often discussion going on in the comments section of the articles. This, I assume, is pretty standard. What is annoying, however, is that when someone clicks a link like "3 comments" at the bottom of an article, they aren't taken, as they may assume they would be, to see the comments.

Instead they get taken to a page which has the title and introduction of the article, and nothing else. If you dig around enough, you can eventually find where the comments are. On another page. Example:

Link from "4 comments" from an article on our front page:

http://www.aarghbrainz.com/articles/view.php/51/comments/1

The only place where I could actually find and view the comments:

http://www.aarghbrainz.com/comments/list.php/article/51

I don't know what the deal is, or if it's intentionally meant to work this way, but it's just plain annoying. Is there any way to fix this? Any hidden option that I've just not stumbled across yet? Is this a bug, an unfinished or a pointless feature?

I'm just trying to figure out how I can look at the comments on a page without having to dig around to find the particular link that will show them to me.

That's a bug, for sure, and since it has been reported to me by another person a couple of days ago, I have had the chance to review and fix all involved scripts. This will be available with the next release of the software. Thank you so much for your interest in YACS.
