Google sitemap now supports rss feeds :)
The only issue is that google will only accept the sitemap from the site root url, but that could easily be fixed by having a sitemap file that simply includes the rss2.php feed file.

IMHO this would be a neater solution than using the existing sitemap as its more universal.

With the sitemap technology you have the capability to drive Google to sections, categories that you want them to analyze, even if content is quite old or not referenced in the RSS feed. " As a test I have an rss feed as a sitemap working (as well as the normal gsitemap ) and it works well
