Extending a feature: "watch"

Is it possible to "watch" a whole (sub)section rather than 1 single document

We have a request for a YACS member to be informed about any changes that happen in a (sub)section. Can this be done our does it require a new feature?

RSS feeds already enable this, for articles and files. You may suggest the person either to use its own personal aggregator, or to use one on-line service to gather data and to send mail messages.
