Installation problem.

Sent by Patrik Kastinen

Hello there.

I just downloaded your community script but when I try to install it i get this error message in the Configuration part:

'Warning: fopen(../shared/parameters.include):
failed to open stream: Permission denied in /usr/home/web/wse29399/yacs/control/configure.php on line 521

Configuration'

I'm pretty sure the MySQL-information is correct because I have installed other community scripts before (they are deleted now). Must i CHMOD anything?

Yeap. It is important to let YACS write any file on Unix systems.

The error message you had popped up when YACS attempted to save configuration data into the file system.

YACS should write only below its installation directory. I suppose that only this directory should be chmod to 755 and that adequate rights will be cascaded to directories below.

Hi, it's me again - registrered.

I have CHMOD the whole yacs direction to 755 (and also all the files in yacs/control directory) but I receive the same error message. What do I do wrong?

No idea at all. Usually the CHMOD does the trick... Any additional limitation set by your ISP?

Patrick, would you like to go to the scripts index, download the archive posted today, and check if it solves your issue?

Thank you for your feed-back.
