Exporting an article to WORD or PDF
The formatting is not exported correctly
1- When you export an article to WORD or PDF at least part of the export is not done correctly.
Most annoying is that things like [indent] and
do not get exported correctly.
In PDF tables don't get exported correctly. This looks OK in WORD.
2- At the same time it would be good if the export could use the same or a similar font as used on the web page.
3- In PDF export at the bottom of the page you get a French remark about the export. It would be nice if this could be in English if your browser is also in English. (e.g. PDF file created by YACS)
Could these things be fixed?
Cheers

| Bernard from nearby-an-airport Associate, 6734 posts | 1- Export functions to PDF and Word have been hacked rapidly, and they are lacking extensive tests to ensure proper rendering in all cases. Also, the current PDF script badly supports tables. 2- The font issue is complex, because web rendering is based on browser support, where PDF conversion is performed on server side. 3- Actually, the bottom string should be a parameter in some configuration panel. This has already been flagged in the to-do list. Nothing impossible here, just a lack of resources to work on this topic. Since the real issue is to sollicitate talented developers, we are working hard on some innovative governance structure to be unveiled soon. The goal is to create an open team to drive the entire development process, from requirements to software releases. If you are interested a preliminary description of this process is available for review. |
