Got the Time?

Jordan Sonny -- on Aug. 4 2006
Wrong time on my site
First I want to say, That installing YACS was about as easy as eating Moms Apple Pie. EASY !!! I have been trying other CMSs trying to find one I liked and the user could use. Some of them would not even bring up an install page, some were pretty hard. Thank you YACS ! I have had my site going for 4-5 hours now and I love it. BUT,I just noticed my time is wrong. It is 4-5 hours off. How do I change my time?

Hello,

Yacs use GMT time based on the hosting server. You can select your time zone in the control panel, system parameters. Look at your browser cache enventualy.

Sonnyo : Sorry, this function is automatic and look at the host time zone and the user time zone to define the local time.

This function was in old versions of yacs. So you have to take a look at the serve time zone and the user time zone too.

GnapZ: Thank you for the reply. I have looked all over. In sql, system settings etc. I can find where it shows the time ( looks like two different times) but it will not let me change it any where, or I still have not hit the right area. Thank you

YACS always attempts to use GMT time stamps. For this it has to evaluate time shift on server side, and on surfer side. On server side, YACS directly queries the operating system, and the only adjustment to make is to properly setup the system software. On surfer side, YACS uses a small Javascript-software to retrieve information provided by the browser. Once again, the workstation has to be properly setup for this o work.
