How to start with YACS
Hi guys,
I just installed YACS and am very excited becuase it the only CMS till date that did not gave me any installation problems.
YACS seems to work differently than other CMSs i have used in past so could you guys help me with few questions: 1) How can i get rid of the articles, categories and stuff that came with the installation? 2) I am planning to develop a personal website with YACS, so how should i apparoach? How can i generate my own menus, sections and categories.
Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Fernand![]() from Paris 1291 posts | Hello sweety, Welcome to the easy (and friendly) using YACS world! You have to know that using YACS is more easy than to install it ! It is different at the beginning, but when you get its simple logic most of the work is already achieved. You have first to choose all your options and parameters into the control panel. (Don't hesitate to go on, there is an help on line for almost every action) You should start with this simple principle of YACS according to which a section is a container for articles (or pages). And that you can generate sections, sub-sections, and so on... as you like. Each sub-section is in fact a section and possesses all the qualites of a section. Then you can turn the content of such a section in almost whatever you like, forum, calendar, artcile... You can make this content to appear wherever you wish (for exemple, on the home page). If you feel lost about a particular point, the support section here, will certainly help you. Otherwise, don't hesitate to get in touch again with us through this forum if you need a precision. |
